Strain Development Team Leader

PhD in Biology
I am a multidisciplinary researcher with over 15 years of experience in genome engineering, computational biology, and scientific image processing. I graduated from the interdisciplinary master’s program in natural sciences and mathematics with a focus on Molecular Biology and Organic Chemistry. I have also done the pre-clinical part of an M.D. program. Having experienced both the research and medical sides of life sciences, I decided to favor the former. The academic path took me through a Ph.D. in developmental biology, an exciting postdoctoral project, and finally managing my own synthetic biology laboratory. I focused on developing and applying genome engineering and gene expression regulation tools to answer fundamental questions in animal development. I routinely combined synthetic biology, imaging, laboratory automation, and automated data analysis. This combination of experiences has brought me to Synovance. Here, I work on advancing the Synthetic Genome technology and engineering novel strains that enable a transition to the sustainable production of chemicals the world needs.
