I am a Chemist/Biochemist by formal education. I love learning. I have acquired skills in Genetics and Molecular Biology over the course of >15 years of research in high profile academic Institutes. I have always found fundamental research fascinating. However, at a certain point in my life and career, I realized that I wanted my work to have a direct impact on global problems; I wanted to put a little stone into building a better world. I decided to take formal education in Entrepreneurship to have a 360° view of what it takes to launch and sustain a successful business. Soon after, I joined Brian into the Synovance adventure. Our common ambition was to use biotechnology to address some of the world’s most urgent needs: sustainability, climate change and hunger. I believe firmly that the textile industry has created an enormous problem that we need to attack at its heart: the raw materials and specifically, dyes. We need to switch from chemically to naturally produced pigments, but that are scalable at the same time, in order to tackle the problem. This is exactly what I am committed to doing at Synovance.
